My name is Debbie Trusty, and as Director of Children’s Ministries at Colonial Park let me welcome you to our church. Just as Jesus took the little children into his arms and welcomed them, we extend our arms of welcome to you and your family.
Our mission in Children’s Ministry is to help children on their journey as disciples of Jesus Christ. We strive to help children experience God’s love, feel included in the life of the congregation, and have opportunities to grow in their faith. Through our programming we endeavor to invite children to COME and meet Jesus, to SEE what he has to say, and to encourage them to GO TELL others about Him. A sampling of our programs and activities follows:
Sunday School Classes (toddler nursery up through 5th grade)
Child care for all worship services
Children’s Church (Kindergarten and 1st grade)
God’s Children In Worship (Second Graders)
Vacation Bible School
Wednesday Faire activities (choir and group building games)

Advent Workshop
Mission opportunities (Heifer Project, Reelfoot Rural Ministries, etc.)
A Children’s Council composed of teachers, parents, and children’s coordinators meets several times during the year to study and support the direction of our ministry and to address any concerns or issues that may arise. The meetings are open to any interested parties. Dates are made available through the newsletter, bulletin, or on-line. Feel free to contact me with any questions or for further information. My office is located on the first floor next door to the Mother’s Day Out Office.
